Aaron Lee RalstonIn in April 2003, while he was hiking in Utah a suspended boulder from which he was climbing down became dislodged, crushing his right forearm and pinning it against the canyon wall. Ralston had not told anybody of his hiking plans and knew no one would be searching for him. Assuming that he would die, he spent five days slowly sipping his small amount of water while trying to free his arm. His efforts were futile as he could not free his arm from the 800-pound rock. After three days of trying to lift and break the boulder, the dehydrated and delirious Ralston prepared to amputate his trapped right arm at a point on the mid-forearm, in order to escape.
The Bible tells us that before the second return of Jesus Christ there will be dangerous and difficult time. Only those that endure to the end will survive, spiritually. Matthew 10:22 We all have seen professional entertainers that started their careers with high expectations but only to end up broke and drug dependent. Not everyone who starts well finishes well. We have also seen people who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior, only to see them drop by the wayside. Galatians 5:7
My friend if you have begun the Christian race, do not rely on your amazing start but rather be diligent to the end. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” 1 Timothy 4:7-8
